We build agentic-first foundations.
Corduroy Labs is an AI Architecture Studio in Truckee, California — a mountain lab building open-system AI foundations for small and mid-size organizations. Our focus is the practical work that lets the people running the work, the people using it, and the agents helping them all share the same operating rhythm.
We believe the next wave of AI adoption belongs to teams that make work clearer for the people doing it, the people relying on it, and the agents working alongside both. The work is part cloud architecture, part operations design, and part open-source craft.
What we believe in, we practice.
Agents need architecture
An AI agent without context, permissions, workflow boundaries, and escalation rules is just another tool. We design the architecture around the agent so it can help safely.
Open systems are working conditions
Self-hosted and open-source systems give smaller organizations real control over their operating layer. We use them where they make sense, and recommend commercial tools where they are the better answer. The choice is always the operator’s.
Human review is a feature
The goal is not to remove people from important decisions. The goal is to let agents prepare, route, summarize, and recommend so humans can decide faster.
Operators stay at the center
Every system we build is designed around the people running it and the people using it. Agents prepare and recommend; the operator decides. The boundary is what makes the agent useful, not what limits it.
Deep across the stack, from landing zone to operating workflow.
